If you're a Building Surveyor looking for a career working in a non-corporate and less commercial environment, then this is the opportunity for you. We are representing a privately owned multi-disciplinary practice with a solid reputation for providing a first-class service across design, building surveying, Project and Cost Management. Their workload varies in size and complexity but typically involves a client base consisting of private commercial, public authorities, healthcare, education and academy trusts. With 3 offices in the South East of England, they are experiencing a steady increase in instructions, and have a need for an experienced Building Surveyor for their Essex team.

Providing a combined building surveying and a project management function, you will carry out dilapidation services and small to medium sized refurbishment and alteration projects. Following the recent appointment with an academy trust, you will also provide condition reports for all associated schools, in addition to delivering a maintenance programme and assisting with small expansion projects.

Ideally you will be a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 4 years’ experience, confident delivering professional building surveying duties from dilapidations and stock condition reports through to party walls. You should also have some project management experience, including planned works such as door and window replacement programmes through to larger scale refurbishments and extensions. Therefore, you should be comfortable working on projects with a value between £10k - £2m. Knowledge of AutoCAD would also be advantageous. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will also hold responsibility for developing the next generation of Surveyors by supporting graduates through their APC.

With challenging projects and a variety of surveys, no two days will be the same. You will be encouraged to progress your career to Associate/Director Level whilst benefiting from a role which offers flexibility and a friendly, positive environment. Remuneration packages will be competitive and reflect your experience but expected to be between £40,000 - £45,000 plus car allowance, healthcare, pension and other benefits
