Join a growth sector as a Building Surveyor covering a client side industrial portfolio

The Industrial property sector has outperformed both retail and office sectors for rental growth over the last 20 years. This market trend has driven a significant demand, in particular for multi-let industrial assets.

Located near urban areas with a variety of sizes, units are let to multiple occupiers, providing affordable space for a wide range of service lines mainly high-tech manufacturing, wholesale, transport and construction. With an impressive portfolio in excess of 1000 units, they now have assets strategically focussed across the Midlands, East of England and the South East.

These assets are managed by an independent consultancy who we are now working with to acquire an experienced Building Surveyor.

This is a new role and part of a planned expansion. You will play a key part in the upkeep of clients portfolio's, ensuring all tenants have met their repair obligations at the end of their leases. Working directly with the end clients, you will carry out general building and condition surveys on their tenanted portfolio's. These will typically be towards the end of a long lease. You will also assist in any remediation, redecoration and maintenance projects to help reduce void property turnaround.

You should therefore be a MRICS qualified Building Surveyor who is capable of working on a client portfolio spanning a large region throughout the Midlands and North Home Counties. You should hold a formal building surveying qualification with good knowledge of building maintenance. Competent in report writing and creating schedules of conditions with the ability to work independently whilst visiting sites. In addition, some experience in minor works project management and experience working on an industrial portfolio would be a distinct advantage.

Due to the nature of the portfolio, you will need to be comfortable surveying occupied premises and be prepared to travel up to 25,000 miles a year to cover a large portfolio. Therefore a driving licence is essential. We would also expect you to be "client facing", thorough, professional, highly organised and self motivated with the ability to work as part of small surveying team.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop a career working with an established Real Estate business. Salary and benefits package will reflect the calibre of candidate, but as a guide we expect salaries to be within £45,000 to £65,000 plus benefit packages which includes some flexibility with remote working.
