Are you a Non-Executive Director capable of providing independent counsel and objective oversight to our team?
Independence from the Executive Directors and senior management team is of the upmost importance. As our Non-Executive Director, you will provide effective counsel and objectivity to the board, viewing the company and its operational issues from a broad perspective. You will bring a wide spectrum of experience to the board. With an in-depth knowledge of financial, legal, and operational systems and be capable of providing valuable insight and contacts to the business.
Our NEDs provide general counsel and a wide strategic perspective through contribution to board meetings across Environmental Social and Governance, Audit and Risk, Remuneration and Nomination, Finance, and Investment Committees. As Chair of our ESG committee, you will be a strong, independent, and competent communicator and experienced leader, with the required experience to oversee the development of and make recommendations to the Board regarding the Group’s ESG strategy.
An important and integral function of the Independent NED will be to help to expand our networks, external contacts, and opinions. In some cases, you will be called upon to represent the company externally. You will focus on strategic company matters, helping to inform the Company’s strategy and engage with the Shareholder, and will not stray into operational executive direction. This approach will ensure impartiality and objective, independent counsel to the board.
You will have demonstrable experience in ESG delivery and change with significant experience of running a financially and operationally complex business at MD, CEO, CFO, COO or Partner level. You will also have experience in the affordable housing sector with the connections, skill set and gravitas to help This Land™ reach its goals. You will have a blend of personal qualities and the communication style that inspires confidence, with a diplomatic approach and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders. Preferably local to the Cambridge and surrounding area with associated knowledge.
