Lead Education Improvement & Refurbishment Projects
Your expertise in complex, medium-to-large-scale education refurbishment projects is in high demand.
We are searching for a highly competent Building Surveyor with a genuine passion for transforming educational environments. If you are ready to manage a significant capital works portfolio from strategy to completion, and are looking to escape the corporate politics typical of large firms, this is your opportunity.
This is a key role within a small, independent team of senior professionals delivering high-quality, specialist consultancy services. We need a seasoned Building Surveyor who is ready to hit the ground running.
The Role: Direct Impact & Project Ownership
Full project ownership with key client accounts, placing you in direct control of impactful projects within the education sector. This is not a graduate position; we seek a professional capable of managing both the technical and strategic aspects of the project workload. With direct client involvement.
You will be responsible for:
-
Leading the delivery of complex medium-to-large-scale refurbishment and capital improvement projects for Colleges, Schools and Educational institutions.
-
Conducting detailed building and condition surveys, thorough defect analysis, and strategic feasibility studies.
-
Developing precise specifications, preparing competitive tender documentation, and providing end-to-end contract administration (JCT).
-
Serving as the primary, trusted point of contact for clients, contractors, and design teams, ensuring exceptional project outcomes.
The "Why": Professional Freedom & A Better Environment
We understand the frustrations of corporate structures and this opportunity offers a compelling alternative: a close-knit, high-performing team built on professional respect, where your work is the priority—not office politics.
-
No Office Politics: You'll join a mature and collaborative team environment who support each other, allowing you to focus entirely on successful project delivery.
-
True Team Culture: Join a friendly, experienced group who genuinely value professional excellence and committed to an environment where you can thrive.
-
Established business in a great location: Work from a well-equipped office located in a bustling town centre with available parking and plenty of nearby amenities. Serving an established local client base throughout Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, and Essex
What We Require
-
A RICS accredited degree with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as a Building Surveyor.
-
Proven, hands-on experience managing and successfully delivering refurbishment and capital improvement projects, with a significant focus on the education sector.
-
Full membership of the RICS is highly desirable, or you are demonstrably working at this level with sector experience.
-
Exceptional skills in contract administration, project management, and high-level client relationship management.
